♥ Hello Beautiful - Round 4 - Babysteps Part 1 ♥

Hi everyone!

Firstly, I want to address something I saw on SL Secrets. For those of you who aren't familiar with SL Secrets.. it's much like Post Secret (where you anonymously post online a picture/words regarding to a secret.. without the repercussions of people knowing it's you) 
Anyways.. so, SL Secrets.. I was browsing them last night - as I sometimes do when I'm bored.. to read what people are too cowardly to say to whoever and I saw a post that didn't sit well with me.. it was regarding bloggers and how this person claimed SL had no need for them. Well, I think a whole bunch of designers who rely on us to spread the word of their items would disagree with that person. If we were not required, why would designers look for bloggers? Why would designers actively seek them out? 
I started blogging because I like putting together outfits, plain and simple. I never expected to get picked up by creators or to end up blogging any events. Almost two years down the line and I started to get noticed.. which was fantastic! I was over the moon and slowly but surely I picked up a whole bunch of sponsors. Before I knew it I was getting at least 5 items to blog sent to me a day.. which is also why I got rid of all my sponsors and now I just blog what I like as it was so hard to keep on top of it all. Some creators have been fantastic and let me ask them randomly when there's something I'd like to blog and they'll send it my way. Other than the occasional time that happens, or events I blog.. I pay for everything myself. Some bloggers do it purely to get free stuff.. and that was never my intention when I started to blog. I just like to show off what I put together and hope someone else likes it too.. maybe they'll draw inspiration from it for their own look - or copy it completely! Too many people get butt hurt over people "stealing" their look from their blog.. if you don't want people to copy you, don't blog your look.. simples! 
I like not having the pressure to get posts out as frequent as I was before, means I get to think about what I write and put together a look that I'm really happy with. I try not to edit my pictures too much, as it wouldn't be honest.. I just tidy up anything that looks weird.
Anyway, to end my rant about this.. I'll just say.. if bloggers were'nt needed - why do creators look for them? Why do events do better with them? Even as a blogger I look at other blogs to find out what's going on, where the next event is.. what hot new stores there are.. etc etc. It's a lot easier than running around inspecting people. So, to that person who said bloggers aren't required.. I'm sorry you don't see the benefit of them - but I believe they are needed. If all bloggers went away I'd not know of events or anything and I'd probably just be stood in a sandbox on my own looking sad.

Now I got that rant out of the way.. I have more Hello Beautiful items to show you! If you want to see what else is on offer there, please see my last massive post featuring lots of great designers. Today I have an adorable skin from Babysteps to show you, found at Hello Beautiful. This is "Kandy Skin - Normals" and I'm showing it off on the super cute BooBoo mesh head from Cute Bytes. This skin looks absolutely adorable on this mesh head. I love it so much! It comes with an option for regular heads too if mesh heads aren't your thing.. and includes lots of different colour brow options. There's even a freckles option! This particular skin will be on sale after the event too.. there's a limited one at Hello Beautiful too, "Kandy Skin - Pastels", which won't be available for sale after the event - as it's limited.. which I plan to show you very soon. 

I'm wearing a cute outfit from Sugar & Spice called "Hadleigh's". Not only is the shirt and skirt very cute, but there's a HUD to change the texture of them, so essentially you're getting a few different looks for one price. I happened to think this shirt and skirt combo was nice, the shirt says on it "A little bit dramatic" which is so me! It was a bargain 50 lindens in the sale too! Can't grumble at that.

So.. this hair is from D!va and it's.. wait for it.. it's.. free! Yes, free! It's a group gift and the group is free to join too, so it won't cost you anything. It has a resize script in it too and sizes down easily.. it was a bit fiddly to get it to fit right on the mesh head.. but that's because I suck at positioning hair. I move it around, resize, move some more, resize some more.. then hate it and start again.. eventually I was happy with it though. Just took a lot of patience on my part.

Woodlands is open again.. and there's some fab stuff to be found. Including this pose I'm using from "the pose shop" - Not a store I'd heard of before, but definitely a store I'll check out again. 
Can I just have a grumble though at how many gatchas were there with outfits in them? Not like.. a whole outfit. But parts of an outfit! I absolutely hate that.. I understand why creators do it, because they make a whole lot more money that way.. but for the buyer it is really annoying. I like ones where you get a whole outfit, but you are not sure what colour you'd get.. I can deal with that. But when there's a million pieces for like 50-75 lindens a pop - it gets ridiculous. Seriously.. think about how expensive that outfit would be if you added up all the pieces individually. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't pay that if you saw it on sale for that price in a store or on marketplace. I refused to play those machines.. even though the ones from Turducken and Purretes were really hard to pass, because the outfits are super cute.. but I just can't justify spending that much. Hmm, that turned into another rant.. my bad!

♥ Unicorns I love them! ♥

I haven't blogged for a few days, I've been focusing a bit more on real life.. which is exhausting.. it's so much nicer when I don't worry about it, but I know I need to.

Well.. I can officially say now that I left my family. While it is sad that things happened how they did, I can't go back and change them and I know in my heart that there were things that weren't working how I'd have liked anyway. 
Will I be looking for a new family? No. Not right now. It doesn't seem right to do that after spending over a year with a family.. to just start fresh so soon. I spoke to a friend who said that many people would just start the search again, but I'm not like that.. don't think it's right. I would still feel the same even if I wasn't a kid avi.. and if I was a parent who had lost a kid in the family that had been with me for a long time there is no way I'd put up a panel looking again. I feel it would be disrespectful.. like you're trying to erase the memory of them immediately. I guess I'd wait at least a month or two before embarking on the whole process again otherwise it would just seem like I didn't care about them at all. Which is really harsh... and I did care about my family, so I'm not ready to look right now. 

Besides.. I'm focusing on real life, which means that I'm not as involved in things on Second Life as I have been.. guess it would be kind of pointless to start with a family not being on so much.. which is part of the reason that things with my family before ended. Things just move too fast in Second Life if you're not there.. it sucks. 

I've decided that forever family is a myth.. in a sense that none of the families that I've settled with have lasted like I hoped. Things always change, they get tired of me or real life happens.. or it just doesn't feel right. My advice to anyone looking for a forever family is this.. stop. Find a family, by all means.. but don't think it will last because it won't. Enjoy it while things are happy though.. just realise all good things do come to an end. There are the few families who do slip through the cracks and make it work no matter what.. kudos to them.

It's weird because those I consider forever family are not family.. they're just people I've met in Second Life. All of them were met through family, but no matter what the situation we always find each other again.

A good friend of mine fits into that category above and has been kind enough to let me stay with them, "The Roth Family". I've known them for what would seem like ages and no matter what avatar they use we always talk.. I'd not met his girlfriend before, but she accepted me straight away. Even made me this little house outside (pictured below, in the second picture) full of girly toys and things especially for me. She even went as far as baby proofing the lake behind by putting up a really cute fence. They have been lovely in taking me in and giving me much needed cuddles. They may even become my God Parents.. who knows. I'm so thankful that they pulled me out of the sandbox that I was squatting in. That makes it sound like I was pooping there.. I mean.. I had set it up as home, even though it was public. lol

Off of the family topic now and onto the main point of my post.. dun dun dun.. the outfit! A lot of my accessorising was done at this round of Collabor88. It's super cute over there with all the unicorn related stuff.. and well I do love unicorns so I couldn't resist.

I'm wearing an outfit from tiptoes. I've never bought from them before, but seen tons of cute stuff from them and since I had been so busy blogging for sponsors I hadn't had a chance to try them out.. until today! I love this cute pink dress with bows all over the bottom. It's such a complete outfit too, since it comes with shoes, hairband, tights and bracelet.. and it wasn't badly priced either. I will definitely be shopping there again!

♥ These Days ♥

Ahh! These last couple of days have been super busy in real life.. so I'm very sorry that I've not posted! Today wasn't much better either what with the "Black Friday" sale business going on. It's somehow managed to work its way over to the UK which means lots and lots of craziness.. I've been online shopping the sales but I know that it's been manic in the shops.. people fighting (almost to the death) over items. I saw a video of one woman literally clinging to a television while someone else was trying to carry it out of the shop.. she wanted it for herself. My sister and I have joked it's the closest thing we're gonna get to our own real life "Hunger Games"

Second Life has been crazy with sales today too! I popped over to Minuet and Just Kidding to grab some "Black Friday" bargains.. but I know they're not the only two stores participating. I didn't want to spend too much though because of "The Arcade" starting. Oh.. the shopping guide is out for that now if you wanted to peek!

Okay, so onto the outfit I'm wearing today.. I have this adorable "Flower Love" outfit to show you from Little Nerds. It's comprised of a pretty top and white leggings, which will fit both baby and kid ToddleeDoo avatars. It should be noted that it doesn't come with shoes, however, sometimes it's great when an outfit doesn't come with shoes because it gives you options then.. and it also allowed me to break out these boots that were just sitting in my inventory doing nothing because I had nothing that went with them.

Also check out this amazing skateboard I'm standing on from SugaBees. I absolutely love it. I love the texture of this board too.. and the fact that it's resizable simply by stretching it means no messing around with scripts! This particular one is LIFE compatible, but there's ones for other HUDs (including Little Minders) and you can also get it so it's not compatible with any HUD too if those aren't your thing. It has two awesome tricks you can perform in it too.. and it's real easy to maneouver with. All you need to do is press the arrow keys on your keyboard and away you go.. tricks are easily achieved by pressing the page down and page up keys (although don't hold down page up for too long or you'll end up flying) The boards come in a variety of designs too, but this one is awesome.. a really funky looking board, perfect for those days when you just wanna skate the day away in style! 

Song at the bottom of this post has been stuck in my head ever since I saw them doing their cringey "dad dance" on the X Factor. They really shouldn't dance.

♥ Who do you think you are? ♥

"Strawberry Turtle.. hmm.. Strawberry Turtle.." I pondered to myself after seeing the store name flash up on my facebook feed. "Nope, don't know it.." I decided and that was it.. I teleported over there almost immediately. I love checking out new stores and get a little bit excited to see what they have to offer.. that's when I came across this adorable outfit and had to show it off. It features Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Supergirl.. too cute and since I love Batman I had to have it. Plus.. not to go all 90's on you or anything but.. girl power! It was a bargain 70 lindens for the top and shorts.. it also comes with both baby and kid ToddleeDoo versions. There were a few other outfits in the store too that caught my eye.. might be worth a trip back! If you've not checked out Strawberry Turtle yet.. go take a peek.

In other news I have yet another headache.. starting to think something is seriously wrong with me. As per usual though I'm far too scared and stubborn to get checked out.. so I'll suffer on. I've convinced myself that today it's because it's all rainy and horrible outside and possibly potentially stormy so therefore it's a storm related headache. I dunno about anyone else, but when a storm is on its way I'm better than a weather forecast.. my head starts hurting and I know a storm is coming.

♥ Sonnet ♥

Mad Hatter, previously known as MH, has come out with four different colours of their adorable new outfit called "Sonnet" - I was going to blog just one.. but then I had a hard time choosing so I ended up blogging all four. Sonnet will fit baby and kid ToddleeDoo avatars and they come with tunic, capris and ballet flats. They are just super cute and I really love the texture work on them too! I think red might be my fave.. no wait.. purple.. no blue.. oh I don't know, they all rock! Anyways, Mad Hatter now has an in world store too as well as a marketplace! Yay! ♥

In other news.. Olive had a hair sale and I couldn't resist going over and grabbing a couple of styles I didn't have.. including this one I'm wearing called Crystal. It's a lot like the darla hair, only this one isn't rigged for ToddleeDoo avatars and comes without a hairband.

I went over to Kawaii VS Creepy with my sister too and we picked up a few bits, including this adorable bear from MoOH! The Kawaii side was by far my fave side of the event.. although I did pick up a few bits from the Creepy side too.

♥ Fooling around in the laundry room ♥

When your family is away and you're home alone.. there's only one logical solution.. it's time to play! I especially love playing with the washing machine, much to my mummy's disapproval, but it's just so tempting with all the buttons! 

Anyway, these outfits I'm wearing while I fool around in the laundry room are from Enchanted Bowtique. Perfect outfits for going crazy around the house when nobody is in. They fit baby and kid ToddleeDoo avatars too and the sandals have a handy resize script in them too.

♥ Melissa ♥

I've got an incredibly pretty fall/autumunal outfit to show you today, in two colours, from a new store called MH. Currently MH is only on the Marketplace, but with quality outfits like these I expect we'll see a lot more soon and hopefully an in world store will appear over time. These outfits are called "Melissa" and are just lovely. Melissa will fit both baby and kid ToddleeDoo avatars, which is a huge bonus! It's a dress outfit that comes with adorable little socks tucked into the shoes. I'm showing off just two of the colours, pink and purple, but there are more colours to be found on MH's marketplace.

This is my 370th post.. I never usually pay attention to that figure, but today it caught my eye. Hard to believe I've posted that much!

When I was editing these pictures to make them all pretty my mummy's grand piano in world was playing classical music in the background, so I felt like one of those speed artists on youtube. I had to then remember that I wasn't making a video and I'm not a speed artist.. funny how that music seemed to help the process along though. There's my random funny thought of the day, hope you enjoyed it. lol

♥ I love cats!! ♥

It's no secret that I'm a crazy cat lady.. well.. I would be in real life for sure if the idea of having a gazillion litter trays to clean out didn't fill me with dread. I do love kitties though and this outfit from Viv.a! Kids is a cute way of getting your message across. It's pretty adorable, even the suspenders have cats on them. This outfit comes with the clogs too, which are just darling. It should be noted, however, that this outfit only fits ToddleeDoo baby avatars.

I went over to the Candy Fair and got this super cute hairstyle (which is being obscured by the hat a little, but it went so perfectly with it. Under the hat is macaroons and a bow) I also got the glasses, hat and ring at the Candy Fair too. A great place to visit if you're looking for some yummy accessories and cute hairstyles.

PO-TA-TO. That's all I have to say when I think about this cute little veggie guy I got from Birdy at this round of Chapter Four. They are strangely awesome.. I don't know why! But at 50 lindens a go, you have to get at least a couple or it's a crime!

Also how epic is that yarn bombed tree in the background? It's so awesome.. that's why I had to get a picture in front of it.

♥ Flawless ♥

This wild zebra inspired ensemble is centered around these very cute zebra ballet flats from Tiny Trinkets.. they are decorated with a little bow on the front, zebra print texture and have a very handy resize script in them. 
The little black crown headband, that is in front of the panda on my head, is also from Tiny Trinkets!

The shirt I'm wearing describes pretty much how I feel about Second Life. You can log on and look awesome, any time of day. Real life, I roll out of bed.. look in the mirror and wonder what on earth my hair is doing and how it managed to get in such a mess when all I was doing was laying there. Anyways, the shirt is from One Eleven.. I got it from an old round of Woodland Treasures Gatcha, so I'm not entirely sure if it's still available at their store.. hopefully it is!

How awesome is this bag from Zenith? I love it! I wanted it sooooo bad to finish my collection of Zenith bags from this round of The Arcade. I had been scoping out yard sales trying to find this one, but people were asking 1k for it.. cue my daddy to the rescue.. he logs on and hands it to me, along with a ton of other goodies I really wanted from The Arcade and couldn't get! Thanks daddy! The bag has a panda on it that wiggles its butt and comes with a panda for your head and a panda for your arm too. Sadly the arm panda didn't work too well with my size and put my arm in my body, so it's not shown in this picture because of that.

Lastly I need to mention this squid from Half Deer, found at this round of Collabor88. It's pretty awesome! This particular one I'm wearing colour changes and has particles of musical notes coming out of it. Big thank you to my mummy for getting this for me, she knows I am broker than broke after The Arcade. Luckily there weren't that many things I wanted from this round of Collabor88. I got the teddy from MishMish that I wanted and that's all I could afford.. the only other things I wanted were this squid and some sneakers.

Family Flea Market just opened.. -facepalms- too much awesome, not enough lindens. Curse The Arcade. Next time I'm not going to go in.. I'm going to go to yard sales cos it kills me every time.
