♥ Shopaholic? Me? ♥

I've been busy experimenting in Blender today, thought it would take my mind off my extremely painful tooth extraction site. I've been popping painkillers like there's no tomorrow.. even taking ibuprofen and paracetamol together, it's still agony! I've booked an appointment to see the dentist in a couple of days.. so hopefully it gets better before then so I don't have to go! Anyways, yeah, I've been dealing with the headache of making my own mesh in order to distract me from my pain.. I've given up for now though. I uploaded 6 or so different models to the beta test grid and each time found a new part that was clipping into my body on the clothing.. so I gave up for now and decided to blog instead. At least I understand how to do that!

So.. anyways.. I haven't blogged Heffalumps in a while, so today I decided I'd pull out an adorable outfit from Heffalumps called "Tribal Lion" there's a lion on the shirt (which is hidden by my awesome sign from Intrigue Co. which is available at The Arcade right now) I love the texture work on the pants in particular!

Check out this cute new mesh head (Baby Mesh Head #3 - MINA) from Cute Bytes, which you can grab at Hello Beautiful right now. As usual it comes with a HUD that you can change your facial expressions with.. change your mouth and your eyes for all sorts of fun face combinations and these heads make for some amusing snaps. You can even get a skin for it from Cute Bytes at this round of Hello Beautiful too, it's called "Mimi Skin" which I have on with it. It will work with any other mesh head compatible skins though.

♥ Feeling Pretty ♥

This will be my last post of today I think.. I've somehow managed to churn out three posts even though I feel terrible! I think trying to keep my mind off how bad I feel has helped a lot though.. keeping myself busy, busy, busy. 

In other news I just passed 900 pictures I've uploaded to flickr. I think that's a pretty awesome number! Now to make it a thousand.

This outfit I'm wearing is so adorable, it's from des lunes and you can find at the very awesome event "La Boutique" right now. There are lots of different colour dungarees to choose from and lots of different colour/patterned undershirts to choose from too. I opted for the pink dungarees with the buggies tee. The tee goes great with the necklace and earrings set from ToddleTeeZ that's at La Boutique too.

My hair is new from Tableau Vivant which you can find at this round of Collabor88. I'm always really excited when I can shrink a hair down to fit me.. and this messy short style is super cute.

♥ Sophisticated ♥

First of all, let me preface this post with the following.. those of you who read what I have to say (as well as look at my blog pictures) are awesome. It keeps me wanting to write and share more.. so thank you. 

Anyways..

The last few days have been a swirl of figures in my real life. My fiancee and I are currently trying to navigate the treacherous path of mortgages. If you've ever done it, I'm sure you'll agree it's a lot to swallow.. especially since it's the first time we've done it. Yep, we're first time buyers.. and as first time buyers it's not been an easy path to follow, there's been a lot of conflicting information thrown at us along the way too. I think we're finally starting to get a grasp on things now, which is good.. especially because we've seen a house we are extremely interested in and want to put an offer in on. I've rented for 11 years and my partner has rented even longer than that (since he's older) So a place that is finally ours is more than a little overdue. It's an exciting and scary thing to do though.. and because there's lots of money involved you really have to think about what you are doing. You are bombarded with information and it can all be a little overwhelming. Calculating fees for solicitors charges, insurance, moving cost, stamp duty etc etc.. is a long and arduous process. No wonder I prefer being a toddler in Second Life.. being a grownup is just so hard! I know that this will be incredibly rewarding should our offer be accepted - but I also know that it can take a while for things to go through so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much (even though in my head it's already ours!) They say good things come to those who wait.. so I'm going to sit here and wait patiently for our offer to be accepted............. Hmm....... -drums fingers on the arm of my chair- Okay.. I'm bored of waiting now. 

So.. anyways, Second Life is good right now. Between Blogging and hanging out with my mummy I've done a little creating on the side. I hope to get back into creating a little more than I have been.. so Awwdorable will probably be seeking out events to participate in to get the name seen a little more. Watch this space! Not literally.. because this space is going to stay the same. Oh, you know what I mean!

As for my sophisticated look that I'm wearing today, it was all inspired around this cute pink coat dress from Little Closet that I got at La Boutique. This is an event that definitely has quality designers in and I pretty much snapped up nearly everything in this round.. so you'll be seeing more soon.

♥ Under Your Spell ♥

Warning.. incoming wall of geekery (skip this paragraph if you just want outfit info!)

My favourite TV show of all time celebrated 18 years since it's original air date yesterday. 18 years! I can't believe it has been that long since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" graced our television sets. It doesn't seem that long at all.. 
I have all kinds of geekery that I've collected over the years to do with my love of the show too.. VHS, DVDs, books, games, figurines to even a chess set (which I can't actually play, but at one point I just bought anything that was to do with the show!) 
My love of the show began when a male friend I had at the time pointed out that I looked a lot like Buffy. I had no idea who this Buffy person was so I had to look it up.. I then found that my foster mothers daughter also thought I looked like her and was shocked I didn't know who she was.. it just so happened that she was a huge fan of the show (by that point it wasn't too far in) so she loaned me the first season boxset on VHS. I burned through those tapes in a few days, I was hooked! My long love affair with the show began. 
Funny story time.. when I met my boyfriend (well, now fiancee) he asked me what I did as a job.. I panicked.. because I don't have one as I'm on disability in real life and didn't want to have to tell him all my problems from the offset.. so I said "I'm a Vampire Slayer" - I dunno what possessed me.. my friend who I was with at the time thought it was hilarious though. Turns out he thought I was a bit weird but he liked that about me.. even to this day he has me as Bu on his phone as he nicknamed me Buffy in his head, but didn't want to put that into his phone so he put "Bu" - he still calls me that too.. nobody has any idea that it's spelled that way and that's what he means though. 
Anyways, I could go on and on about the show and how it has resonated with my life in a bunch of ways.. we share so many similarities it's freaky. I'm not a Vampire Slayer though and I'm British.

Anyways, the point of that wall of text of fandom was because this amazingly cute and spellbinding "Bunny Magic" outfit from ToddleTeeZ made me think of the song from the episode "Once More With Feeling" that was on Buffy. I've linked it at the end of the post for your listening pleasure. You can find this outfit at this current round of Woodlands. There's so many pieces to collect to make up this gorgeous outfit, but it's totally worth it for the fantastic look it creates. I'm particularly loving the animated wand that hovers over your head and emits sparkly particles. Cute! Even the ears are sparkly.. and who doesn't love sparkles?!

♥ Superheroes ♥

Things happened over this weekend, in real life, that tested me greatly.. I had to deal with someone who was extremely rude and nasty to me.. and it was totally not warranted. Especially since this individual didn't know me, my circumstances or anything. He had no right to say them without knowing all the facts. I keep going over the events that played out in my head and wish that I had stood up for myself now.. imagining myself saying things I wish I had said but didn't. How I wish I told him exactly what I thought of what he was saying and how totally wrong he was.. and how upset he had made me because of what he had said. In reality though I just sat there and took the abuse.. trying my hardest not to cry. I even started to block out what they were saying just so I didn't absorb any more of it. I hate when you're upset and all you can think of is trying not to let them see you're upset.. so I kept repeating in my head, "Don't cry.. don't cry.. don't cry" even though I could feel my eyes welling up. I kind of wish I had cried now though.. maybe this "so called professional" would have realised his error and that he can't get away with saying that to someone who is as emotionally fragile as I am.

Anyway, to combat this awful weekend I've had.. I'm going to attempt to shake it off and get some strength from deep within myself.. and be a Superhero. I can do this thanks to this fun outfit from ToddleTeeZ, which is available at Woodlands this month. It comes with a belt buckle option too for the guys, so they can be shirtless.. but for us girlies.. we need to cover up a bit more. I'm particularly loving the fact that there are two super hero poses to get too (as shown below) The shield and headband are particularly nice additions to this outfit. A great outfit!

♥ Raining Hearts ♥

Hello everyone!

Well, it's been an uneventful few days for me really.. so I haven't got that much to talk about. I had a wicked migraine yesterday that left me bedridden for the whole day! I didn't even log onto SL, which is so unlike me. I'm okay though, feeling much better today! I seem to have days where I'm absolutely fine and then the next I'm really ill with something or other.. story of my life! lol

Anyways, today I grabbed my awesome friend Taylor to come pose with me. I didn't really ask either.. I just went, "Taylor, log on and pose with me!" true story. Thankfully he did and the results are super cute. He won't disclose what he's wearing though, sorry. He said he's a ninja and ninjas never tell what they have on.. but I list all my stuff!

I'm wearing a fabulous skin applier from Bad Seed Boutique again. This one is called "Molly" and the tone I'm wearing is the pale tone, but it does come in peach too. Like the other appliers from Bad Seed Boutique there are several options on the HUD to choose from (Picture at the end of the HUD) so you can change it up a bit. I'm wearing the mesh head "Steady" from Cute Bytes again.. it's adorable. I'm really loving these appliers for mesh heads.. it brings a whole new look to the head and stops everyone from looking the same. These appliers have even made people ask if I got a new shape or a new head.. some people didn't even know I had a mesh head on at all and just thought I'd changed my shape up a bit. I think I might have converted a few people to mesh heads because of how adorable these skin appliers are.

My outfit is from That's So Kyoot which I teamed with some cute tights from Turducken - this outfit seemed very appropriate for Valentines Day.. which is fast approaching! 
I don't have any plans in real life as my fiancee is going away tomorrow until Tuesday.. so I'll be all by my lonesome! 
Since I've spent Valentines Day on Second Life sometimes, I learnt that my friends across the pond (America) even give gifts to their friends and not just their significant other. I find that very odd and it's not something that I do, but I appreciate others do it and thank my friends for any gifts they do give me.. but it's really not necessary! 

The hair I have on is "My Love Hair" from Tableau Vivant, which I had no problems fitting to my head. I saw it at this round of Collabor88 and knew immediately that I had to have it. So cute!

♥ Unicorns I love them! ♥

I haven't blogged for a few days, I've been focusing a bit more on real life.. which is exhausting.. it's so much nicer when I don't worry about it, but I know I need to.

Well.. I can officially say now that I left my family. While it is sad that things happened how they did, I can't go back and change them and I know in my heart that there were things that weren't working how I'd have liked anyway. 
Will I be looking for a new family? No. Not right now. It doesn't seem right to do that after spending over a year with a family.. to just start fresh so soon. I spoke to a friend who said that many people would just start the search again, but I'm not like that.. don't think it's right. I would still feel the same even if I wasn't a kid avi.. and if I was a parent who had lost a kid in the family that had been with me for a long time there is no way I'd put up a panel looking again. I feel it would be disrespectful.. like you're trying to erase the memory of them immediately. I guess I'd wait at least a month or two before embarking on the whole process again otherwise it would just seem like I didn't care about them at all. Which is really harsh... and I did care about my family, so I'm not ready to look right now. 

Besides.. I'm focusing on real life, which means that I'm not as involved in things on Second Life as I have been.. guess it would be kind of pointless to start with a family not being on so much.. which is part of the reason that things with my family before ended. Things just move too fast in Second Life if you're not there.. it sucks. 

I've decided that forever family is a myth.. in a sense that none of the families that I've settled with have lasted like I hoped. Things always change, they get tired of me or real life happens.. or it just doesn't feel right. My advice to anyone looking for a forever family is this.. stop. Find a family, by all means.. but don't think it will last because it won't. Enjoy it while things are happy though.. just realise all good things do come to an end. There are the few families who do slip through the cracks and make it work no matter what.. kudos to them.

It's weird because those I consider forever family are not family.. they're just people I've met in Second Life. All of them were met through family, but no matter what the situation we always find each other again.

A good friend of mine fits into that category above and has been kind enough to let me stay with them, "The Roth Family". I've known them for what would seem like ages and no matter what avatar they use we always talk.. I'd not met his girlfriend before, but she accepted me straight away. Even made me this little house outside (pictured below, in the second picture) full of girly toys and things especially for me. She even went as far as baby proofing the lake behind by putting up a really cute fence. They have been lovely in taking me in and giving me much needed cuddles. They may even become my God Parents.. who knows. I'm so thankful that they pulled me out of the sandbox that I was squatting in. That makes it sound like I was pooping there.. I mean.. I had set it up as home, even though it was public. lol

Off of the family topic now and onto the main point of my post.. dun dun dun.. the outfit! A lot of my accessorising was done at this round of Collabor88. It's super cute over there with all the unicorn related stuff.. and well I do love unicorns so I couldn't resist.

I'm wearing an outfit from tiptoes. I've never bought from them before, but seen tons of cute stuff from them and since I had been so busy blogging for sponsors I hadn't had a chance to try them out.. until today! I love this cute pink dress with bows all over the bottom. It's such a complete outfit too, since it comes with shoes, hairband, tights and bracelet.. and it wasn't badly priced either. I will definitely be shopping there again!

♥ Snow Bunnies ♥

I'm so creative.. my title is practically the same name as my hair. -Giggles-

Anyways, this adorable hair is from Tableau Vivant. I grabbed it at Collabor88. I saw it and immediately went "Awwww bunnies!" and put the demo on and my mummy said on voice (as we were in a conference call shopping together) "That is adorable, Kaci" and it finally rezzed in and I had to agree.. so I bought it faster than I can type this. True story. It wasn't too tricky to size.. I just rezzed it on the ground and popped a resize script in it. The bunnies are animated too! Or you can wear the non animated ones if you prefer.

My jacket and boots are from Strawberry Turtle. They can be found at this round of Woodlands. I love the baby pink colour of these.. as pink always grabs my attention at the moment. I'm especially loving the boots with the little snowflake pattern on them. Very cute!

I've got on winter leggings from Little Nerds. They come in a 6 pack, but I keep rocking the white ones.. as they seem to go with practically everything. They are now my fave wintery leggings/tights.

Can I just talk about this thing around my neck for a second? It's super cute! It's an ermine.. which is something I've never heard of before.. but I'm assured it is a real critter. It's cute and in this lovely pinky hue. My mummy won this one at The Arcade and gave it to me and I went awwww. So, thanks mummy! ♥

In other news I now have a daddy.. it's official. I'm so happy to have him as part of my family. Yay! ♥

Only 20 days to go until Christmas! I am getting super excited now as I get more and more organised for it. I've got all my presents in real life sorted out, so that's a huge weight lifted. I just need to tackle my Second Life presents now.. although I picked up one today for my mummy.

This weekend, in real life, we're going to be getting a tree.. we decided we want a real one again this year. I think my sisters kids are visiting tomorrow so it'd be nice for them to see a real tree in someones living room (opposed to the artificial ones they are used to) It will be my second real tree.. I grew up with artificial ones too and my fiance grew up with real ones, so we compromise a little now. If he feels like he wants a real tree, we have one.. on one condition - he deals with it. He hoovers up any needles the thing drops. I do not have time for that.. especially when our cat loves to get in the tree, eat the tree, eat the tinsel, smack the baubles off etc.. that's enough for me to deal with.. he's a little nightmare. I'm a bit worried this year because he's now big enough to have the whole thing over if he wants. All fun and games! 

Anyways, onto the whole point of this post.. this adorable foxy outfit from Heffalumps. It comes in other colours too if pink is not your thing (pink is totally my thing at the moment, if you hadn't noticed already) It is really cute with the fox design.. and I'm loving the skirt and tights. They are very nicely textured. A fabulous complete outfit for baby ToddleeDoo avatars.

I've punked my avatar up with this hair from Tableau Vivant, which I got at this current round of The Arcade. It re-sizes awesomely to fit us and comes with optional earmuffs. The ones I got with this one were teddies.. if they had been fox earmuffs that would have totally worked for this outfit, but alas I'm sure the teddy ones will work for something else some other time.

Are you sick of my snowy pictures yet? I hope not, because I'm loving doing them.. I'm experimenting again with darker ones (uh oh!) I know.. I know.. if it ain't broke don't fix it.. but I like learning new things and trying different styles out.

Got some great boys stuff to show off.. well.. it might be at an event for boys, but I still love it. I'm going to call it unisex from here on out. Sooo many events.. they have rendered me broke. Specifically "The Arcade" and "Woodland Treasures Gatcha." Both of those have emptied out my piggy bank entirely. Anyways, my awesome outfit is from Heffalumps. It's so cute! I then gathered my entourage from Birdy/Alchemy and we walked through the streets looking awesome.. you can tell when I've been to an event like The Arcade - I'm covered in stuff. I had to remove some things I had on actually or you'd not be able to see my outfit!

I'm wearing a new skin from FreshFace, it's out at the "Wicked Wonderland Fair" and although it's not a specially made ToddleeDoo skin, I think it looks really cute and as my mummy put it "fresh faced" I was like, "Mummy, the store it is from is called FreshFace.." Anyways the fair runs until October the 1st, so plenty of time to snag yourself one if you like it.
